The 80 foot tall Gibbon Falls is located halfway between Madison Junction and the Norris Geyser Basin and is easily viewed from the road.

What can I do and see and Gibbon Falls?

There's not much more to do at the falls but simply enjoy their beauty and take a few photos. The falls actually mark the place where the Gibbon River falls off the northern escarpment into the Yellowstone Caldera.

Where are Gibbon Falls?

Gibbon Falls are located halfway between Madison and Norris Junctions. They are easily spotted off the east side of the road. There are a handful of picnic areas near the falls. Park the car, check out the falls, and enjoy lunch or a snack.

When are Gibbon Falls accessible?

This section of road is closed in the winter.
